Reflection

When I was a little girl my mother would ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up. The answer was always the same, I would respond “I want to join the Peace Corps, to travel the world and help people”. Most kids change their minds when they grow into adults about what they want to do with their life, but, I’ve never wavered. I know that this will happen for me because if it doesn’t I will keep on trying until it does.

A career in philanthropy and nonprofit is all I ever wanted. I feel so fortunate to have grown up so incredibly blessed that all I want to do is to give back any way I can. Traveling has only strengthened my desire because it has opened me up to all the different possibilities, cultures, and lifestyles around the world. Learning from and teaching is the only way we can close the divide of what makes us feel different from our neighbors.

The world is so big and there is still so much to learn.
